Inspections

Stainless Steel cargo tank inspection to identify and report the surface condition. An update on the current ( eventually ) corroded surface condition or as a bench mark prior to loading corrosive cargoes.

Supervision

Grinding and baffling

Buffing & Polishing

We employ a variety of techniques based on your needs as well for new building as for repair projects.

Removal of heavy corroded top layers.

Removal of HAZ.

Polishing to required a maximum Ra value of the surface or even to mirror finish.

Pickling & Passivation

To prevent stainless steel from corrosion, the pickling process will eliminate all “fremdkorper / corrosion sources ” from the surface and the passivation process will restore the corrosion resistant passive Chrome Oxide layer.

Boiler & steam systems

Boiler & Pipe cleaning (Mild Steel)

Chemical technical cleaning of the water / steam side by circulation to remove scale or oil / cargo residues out of the system.

Delivery of Chemicals

Treatment of different kind of Stainless Steel

316

Stainless steel 316 is an alloy of mainly iron, chromium (min. 16%), nickel and carbon. Stainless steel 316 is highly corrosion and temperature resistant (approx. 400 ° C), which makes it possible to clean stainless steel 316 installations with steam or chemical means.

Duplex

In the past, chemical tankers often used Type 304L stainless steel, but today the quality is stainless steel with 2.0-3.5% molybdenum as standard. Variants on type 316 austenitic stainless steel are sometimes prescribed, but duplex stainless steel grade Wst 1.4462 Duplex is now the most commonly used tank material. This quality is popular because it is stronger and more corrosion resistant than type 316 stainless steel.

Super Duplex

Super Duplex stainless like Duplex, is a mixed microstructure of austenite and ferrite (50/50) which has improved strength over ferritic and austenitic steel grades. The main difference is that Super duplex has a higher Molybdenum and Chromium content which gives the material greater corrosion resistance.
